Mission
Statement: To Build Up And Grow The Body Of Christ
Visions
Statements: To bring souls to the saving knowledge of our Lord
Jesus Christ. To proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ to the entire
world. To believe in one God, one Faith, one Baptism, and Jesus
Christ as the Son of the living God who suffered, died, and rose from
the grave for our redemption as revealed in the Holy Bible. To
provide opportunity for Christian Worship and Bible Study. To
offer Christian Education and Ministries for spiritual growth. To
minister to the needs of humanity in the name of Jesus Christ.
The purpose of all
ministries is to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ through the work of that
ministry. The following ministries are active and welcome new members:
Beautification
Ministry (Exterior)
Responsible for
accomplishing all of the beautiful landscaping and gardening projects
throughout God's
property. They compliment the exterior of the edifice with vibrant plants,
flowers, and shrubs, providing a welcoming atmosphere and a picturesque view of
FBCEE.
Beautification Ministry (Interior)
The mission of the
First Baptist Church East End Beautification Ministry is to prayerfully use
God's gifts and talents to adorn His house of worship, so that what your eyes
see, will bring joy to your heart, peace to your soul, and a calmness to
worship.
Bible Study Ministry
Taught by the
Pastor or an Associate Minister. Goal is to go deep into the Word to expand the
knowledge of Christ to all participants, empowering them to live as true
Disciples of Christ.
Bridge
Builders Ministry
The purpose of
Bridge Builders is to develop a Christian environment in which brothers and
sisters can fellowship and minister together, in essence building a stronger
FBCEE through relationships with each other and Jesus Christ. "Building Unity in
the Christian Community"
Children's
Church
The purpose of
Children's Church is to provide Bible study for children and help them
experience church as a place of love to begin life as a Christian. We want to
provide an environment for children to learn and grow in Christ by teaching
God's word on a level in which children can easily understand.
Deacon
Ministry
The Deacons are
responsible in assisting the Pastor in promoting the spiritual welfare of the
church in conducting the worship services and in the administering of church
ordinances. They are also responsible in visiting sick and distressed members
as well as working closely with the Pastor in promoting the welfare of the
church family.
Deaconess Ministry
The purpose of the
Deaconesses Ministry is to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ through the
ministry of the Deaconesses. Our purposes are:
1. Assist Deacons
with communion on 4th Sunday and serve communion to the sick and
shut-in.
2. Visit the sick
and single mothers.
3. To facilitate
acceptance of prospective church members through visitation, etc.
Drama Ministry
The purpose of this
ministry is to spread the word of Jesus Christ through Christian drama. The
Drama Ministry shall serve, arrange, stage, and perform spiritual stories in the
Bible through speech, song, dance, action, and other art forms. The Drama
Ministry shall present a play/skit for Easter, Family Month, Sunday School
Promotion, and Christmas and other times as requested upon approval of the
pastor. Using the Bible as our guide and maintaining our faithfulness in the
word, our mission is to influence others to Christ.
Faith Raiser Ministry
The Faith Raising
committee was formed to find ways and means of raising funds for the support and
up-building of the church. It's a carefully organized, highly structured
fundraising program seeking to raise a specified sum of money within a defined
period of time to meet the varied asset-building needs of the church.
Food Service Ministry
Plans menus,
purchase and prepare meals for meetings, special occasions, funerals (repast),
etc.
Responsible for the
overall upkeep and management of the kitchen and serving areas.
Free Indeed Ministry
The ministry of
Free-Indeed is to help those who are seeking to find a way out from their
addictive behaviors. To minister to them about deliverance, being set free, and
how to continue to stay clean through the washing of the word of God.
Golden Key Ministry
I have been young,
and now am old. Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his Descendant
begging bread. Psalms 37:25
To spread the
gospel of Jesus Christ through the ministry of the Golden Key Club Ministry. The
mission of the Golden Key Club Ministry fosters an environment wherein the
senior members of the church nurture their physical, emotional, and spiritual
needs; thereby enabling them to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ through
service projects and fellowship.
In the Christian
spirit, we honor our eighty year old and older at an annual Prayer Breakfast; we
sponsor trips to religious themed productions; utilize community resources
through guest speakers; visit the sick and shut-ins to have a word of prayer and
in December, we deliver a Christmas package.
Greeters Ministry
Greeters are often
the first ministry seen when entering the church. Their duties include directing
everyone to their desired location, taking attendance during all services, and
assisting during special events.
Hospitality Ministry
Hostess Committee
The Ministry of the
Hostess Committee is to assist our visiting Deacons, Choirs, and to greet our
guest Ministers and ensure they are made to feel welcome while visiting our
church.
Inspirational Dancers Ministry
To spread the
gospel of Jesus Christ through praise in the form of dance. This praise dance
ministry is primarily for our youth of all ages.
Jail Ministry
Provides spiritual
healing, hope, and restoration to those incarcerated. Support includes bible
study, bible distribution, and counseling.
League of Christian Women Ministry
To spread the
gospel of Jesus Christ through the ministry of League of Christian Women. The
ministry of the LOCW is involved with: Senior Citizens Christmas Luncheon,
Women's Retreat, Annual Women's Prayer Breakfast, and Women's Day. The League of
Christian Women will also help women develop to their maximum potential in
Christ; spiritually, emotionally, physically, and socially using the Word of God
as the foundation.
Male Ushers Ministry
Enter into His
gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise (Psalm 100:4). The Male
Ushers are responsible for greeting each worshipper and ushering them into the
sanctuary, providing bulletins, fans, and a friendly smile. Their goal is to
insure the comfort and safety of the congregants. They also provide direction
during the offertory period.
Media Ministry (formerly Tape Ministry)
To spread the
gospel of Jesus Christ through audio and video. The Media Ministry is involved
with operating and maintaining the audio and video equipment, recording and
duplicating audio and video tapes, providing tapes to the sick and shut in
members, providing accomplishment music to the singers and praise dancers who
are performing in the sanctuary. We work with the Music Ministry during any
service to enhance their musical performances.
Men's Fellowship Ministry
The Men's Ministry
involves fellowship and teaching to empower men to be effective leaders. Men
come together on the 4th Saturday of each month to fellowship with one another,
mentor one another, and to plan events that are beneficial to the growth of men
and young men.
Missionary Ministry
The Missionary
Ministry of FBCEE includes visiting and sending cards to sick and shut-in
members, as well as providing gifts during the holiday season. They also
provide outreach to the community in support of the Port Shelter Program and the
Road Ahead outreach center. They also provide financial support to missionary
members during illness and to their families during bereavement.
Music Ministry
The purpose of the
Music Ministries is to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ through the Ministry of
Music. The Ministry of Music is involved with teaching hymns, anthems, gospel
and contemporary gospel to the various choirs and choruses of FBCEE and any
music deemed suitable for a Christian Experience. "Make a joyful noise unto the
Lord." Psalms 100: 1
New Birth Praise Dancers Ministry
Mission: To
interpret the Word of God and commune with Him through the power of worship and
praise dance.
Purpose: To spread
the gospel of Jesus Christ through the ministry of dance so that souls will be
touched and delivered.
Affirmation: We
believe that God's Heart yearns for believers to Dance Unto Him!
New Discipleship Orientation Ministry
The ministry of the
New Discipleship Orientation is involved in teaching new members and new
Disciples of Christ basic Christian fundamentals of stewardship, prayer, church
responsibilities, and Biblical principles. The Orientation class is mandatory
for all new members.
Next Step Ministry
Our mission is to
spread the gospel of Jesus Christ through Christian fellowship/mentoring. The
Next Step is committed to giving new FBCEE members a warm welcome by visiting
their homes and introducing them to the church "Creating Friendship through
Fellowship".
Newsletter Ministry
The Newsletter
Ministry is involved in producing an informative newsletter to the congregation
as to the activities going on in the church. Information is collected from the
Pastor's Advisory Council (PAC) and the pastor. Information is then presented to
the congregation quarterly.
Nurses Ministry
The purpose of the
Nurses Ministry is to provide first-aid, if necessary and comfort to bereaved
families during funerals. They also provide health related advice and sponsor
screening sessions for various illnesses.
Nursery Ministry
Cares for small
children so that parents/guardians can participate in the worship experience.
Senior Choir Ministry
The objective of
the Senior Choir is to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ through the ministry of
singing gospel songs. Psalms 95:1-3, 96:1-2, and 98:1-6 let us know why we
should sing praises unto the Lord and glorify His precious name. Our objective,
also, is to invite members of our congregation, especially new converts and
returning members, to join us in praising the Lord through songs. Since there
is strength in numbers, the more members we get to join, the stronger we will
be.
Senior Usher
Ministry
The purpose of the Senior Usher
Ministry is to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ through cheerful greetings to
all who come through the doors for worship services. They usher congregants to
their seats, provide bulletins and assist to make the service a comfortable
experience. They support all other ministries at FBCEE such as evening programs,
funerals, and revivals.
Sunday Church
School Ministries
The Sunday Church School Ministry
shall be to teach the Bible; to lead all church members to worship, witness,
study, and minister. Provide materials, supplies, and guidance regarding the
work of the church and the Baptist denomination.
Transportation
Ministry
Purpose is to provide a safe and
reliable mode of transportation for members and anyone desiring to attend
worship, Sunday School, Bible Study, etc at FBCEE. This ministry also provides
transportation to special church events/trips, and funerals upon request.
Trustee Ministry
Trustees shall perform all duties
required of them according to state laws regarding religious corporations. They
manage the financial and physical assets of the church, not limited to paying
bills and coordinating business transactions. They also maintain and oversee the
church's property, buildings, and equipment.
Tutoring Ministry
Ushers' Ministries
Consists of Senior, W.M. Brown, Male,
and Youth ushers. Responsible for greeting each worshipper and ushering them
into the sanctuary; providing bulletins, fans, and a friendly smile.
Their goal is to insure the comfort
and safety of the congregants and provide direction during the offertory
period.
Vacation Bible
School Ministry
Responsible for teaching, training,
and studying the Word of God through a concerted theme. It
affords everyone an opportunity to
learn together through diversified class groupings.
Youth Ministry
Proverbs 22:6. To spread the gospel
of Jesus Christ through the Youth Ministry of FBCEE.
Youth Ministry is involved with
nurturing, guiding, and training the youth in the knowledge of
Jesus Christ through Bible study,
youth activities, workshops, retreats, community service and fellowship with
youth from other churches. Our goal is to lead our youth in seeking a personal
relationship with Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior which will lead them
through the power of the Holy Spirit, to be witnesses to other youth throughout
the community and the world.
Welcome Committee
Ministry
Our purpose and mission for the
Welcome Committee Ministry is to spread the gospel of Jesus
Christ through the ministry of
welcoming by administering the official welcome to our visitors at each Sunday
morning worship hour, excluding the 3rd Sunday at 11 :00 a.m. (Romans 12:1)
We will
try to be aware of individuals, groups, clubs or any organization visiting
our church
(James 2:1-3) and to acknowledge them
in the welcome.
* As we accept the presentation of the
welcome, with the help of the Lord (John 15 :5), we will be faithful to our
responsibilities.
*Our purpose is that we remain
steadfast, committed (I Cor. 15:58) to our Christian duties, led only by the
Spirit of Christ.
To receive the new members of our
church by visitation to their homes with a FBCEE package, which consist of a
church mug, Daily Word, etc. and a list of church ministries available for new
members to join. We also offer to assist them in any way possible.
